Terms and responsibilities
MOVE is a volunteer workforce coordination platform that helps connect volunteer dental professionals with community-led oral health initiatives.
Koira supports this kaupapa by helping connect clinicians with community events and, where requested, may also support the planning and delivery of initiatives in partnership with hosting providers and organisations.
Clinical services and patient care are delivered under the responsibility of the treating clinician.
Clinician requirements

Be registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand

Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate

Meet professional standards for ethical conduct, clinical competence, and cultural competence

Have the legal right to work in New Zealand

Hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance

Have experience and competency in general adult dental care
Volunteer expectations
Participation is voluntary. Availability and registration do not guarantee placement in an initiative, and clinicians are not bound to the initiative.
Liability
Koira and MOVE act as a coordination platform to connect volunteer clinicians with community-led health initiatives. They do not provide clinical services.
Responsibility for all clinical care, treatment outcomes and professional conduct sits with the individual clinician. All volunteer clinicians must hold appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
Clinical Governance
Clinical governance and oversight sit around this kaupapa to ensure overall safe and quality delivery of care.
Logistics and support
Travel and accommodation support may be provided for participating clinicians.
Specific arrangements will be confirmed on a case-by-case basis for each initiative.
Data and privacy
Information collected through this process will be used for the purpose of workforce coordination regarding relevant initiatives only.
Employment relationship
Expressing interest or participating does not constitute an employment or contracting arrangement with MOVE or Koira.
No agency, employment, or partnership relationship is created through participation.
Placements
Decisions regarding suitability, participation, or placement are made at Koira’s discretion.
Right to decline participation
Koira reserves the right to decline or not progress expressions of interest.
Photos and filming
From time to time, photos may be taken during clinics or related activities for communication and promotional purposes. If you would prefer not to be photographed, please let us know beforehand and remind the photographer on the day.
